Georgia State welcomes military-connected students, supporting them through special outreach programs designed to meet the unique needs and challenges of today’s military community. Each of our six campuses features its own Military Outreach Center. The centers maintain information about campus and community resources, plus local veteran support services. They also work to connect and foster camaraderie between military and veteran students.
Patrolling our buildings, parks and streets by foot, bicycle and car, the Georgia State Police Department works to safeguard the university at all times. As of April 2022, the department is led by Chief Anthony Coleman, who has proudly served the university for more than 30 years.
Take comfort in the fact that campus is filled with precautionary monitoring systems, including 24/7 safety escorts, housing and building patrols, vehicle assists, emergency call boxes and an emergency alert system that keeps you in the know and can be downloaded to your phone. Georgia State complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (the “Clery Act”).
