SEE WHY WE’RE
ATLANTA'S UNIVERSITY.

At Georgia State, the energy of Atlanta meets a vibrant academic and social environment. GSU is transforming downtown into a dynamic college town with the creation of our new Panther Quad and the innovative GSU Blue Line — a 3.7-mile walking path connecting key campus spaces. Bringing life to the campus with greenspaces and social hubs, GSU makes you feel at home in the heart of the city.

CAMPUS LIFE

At Georgia State, your well-being is as vital as your academic success. That’s why we’ve prioritized creating a safe, supportive space where you’ll thrive physically, mentally and socially. Our accredited Georgia State Police Department safeguards campus 24/7 with patrols by foot, bicycle and car, and our Campus Ambassadors assist as safety escorts, helping to guide students securely across campus. We recently launched a $3 million safety campaign to further enhance our campus’ security infrastructure. This includes AI-equipped lighting, expanded surveillance, smart technologies and more. By downloading the free LiveSafe mobile app, which provides real-time safety alerts, you can stay informed of everything happening around you, at all times.

On our downtown Atlanta Campus, you’ll grow, learn and unlock unparalleled access to major attractions, industries and city opportunities. Here, you’ll have the confidence and peace of mind to carve out your own place at a premier research institution in the Southeast’s biggest city.

“My most recent research project focused on how socially anxious individuals are emotionally affected by competitive environments. I found that social anxiety had no significant effect on emotional distress or motivation, revealing just how complex it truly is.”
