It’s been said that rubbing the nose of “Bronzie” — a life-size sculpture of Georgia State’s mascot, Pounce — brings luck. For good fortune, visit Bronzie in Unity Plaza at the start of each semester, ahead of big games and before exams.

Freshmen have a chance to make their mark on Panther turf at the first home football game each fall. Every year, the newest class gets to sprint from the tunnel and take a spin around the field at Center Parc Stadium to kick off the new season.

Panther pride swells for seven days of celebrations each fall. Homecoming Week includes a golf cart parade through downtown Atlanta, a formal student ball, the reveal of the Royal Court and, of course, a fierce football showdown at Center Parc Stadium.

Pantherpalooza
Georgia State’s spring music concert, Pantherpalooza, features a new celebrity performer and special opening artist on campus each year. Prepare to be starstruck — we’ve hosted everyone from Kendrick Lamar to Future.

We acquired legendary Turner Field (former home of the Atlanta Braves and the 1996 Summer Olympics) in 2017 and transformed it into Center Parc Stadium, home field for the Panthers football team. In the fall of 2022, we opened a brand-new Convocation Center and arena for Panthers basketball, and in the coming years, we’ll debut baseball and softball parks.
STUDENT RECREATION CENTER
Scale indoor boulders, find serenity in the spa and swim laps at the Student Recreation Center. While you’re at it, unwind and recharge your mind in a fitness class or personal training session. And if you aren’t exactly a pro athlete but love playing for fun, join one of the university’s 25 sport clubs.
