WAYS TO DISCOVER

As one of only four R1 research universities in Georgia — alongside Emory, Georgia Tech and University of Georgia — we are proving our way leads to life- and world-changing discoveries.

Our labs and research centers are at the forefront, racing the clock to develop vaccines for viruses, examining the ways families cope following natural disasters, analyzing stock market anomalies and locating long-lost stars in the Milky Way.

Doing things THESTATEWAY® means recruiting faculty who can accelerate problem-solving. And it means encouraging our researchers to refocus their lenses to push boundaries and disrupt the status quo.

“One of my research projects involved comparing routes of vaccine administration for a novel influenza vaccine candidate. I found that when administered intranasally, this vaccine significantly boosted protection efficacy against antigenically different influenza viruses, which is promising.”
